adventure cooking
Jen and I have decided once a month we will be getting together to try our hands at a new adventurous dish for dinner. Today was our first experience with josé andrés' cookbook that Jen received for Christmas. Jen is a Spanish teacher who happens to also be my cousin and buddy. Between her love for international experiences from college and my love for...well...everything new and different, we are in for a tasty ride! Especially with Juanes playing in the background!

Dedicated Walden Student
This was the east coast storm from January 25/26. I wish my students felt this way about learning. I ended up at the McDonald's with about an inch of snow accumulation on my shoulders.

snow days
This is the first hat I have knitted of my own design. I wish it was wool instead of acrylic. I couldn't help buying this yarn full of my favorite colors though.
I actually mildly shrank my favorite winter hat that my friend heather gave me as a gift. (Will any of her gifts survive my destructive nature?) So my ears are only half covered when I wear it. After what I believed to be a mild and short experience with ear frostbite on that -3 degree day in PA I felt the need for an alternative.
CHEERS!
