Finally Some Me Time...

After making some slippers for my sister I had a bit of shoe envy. Nothing more dirt worshipping than making some cozy green shoes for myself. These ones are made using an acrylic yarn in seed stitch. Buttons and a Mary Jane strap and I am golden! I am seriously considering wearing these puppies while I teach my classes.

1920's Cinderelli!

I forgot about this scrap that I was testing some felting on. It turns out it is a very useful bit to try to make something out of if you are in between jobs.

I find I really like all of these cool buttons I have, but they don't get out of the house often. Hopefully this 1920's inspired head piece will give me an opportunity to take some of these buttons for a stroll!

Here's to recycling scraps!

Don't Say I Never Gave You Anything!

I thought of my sister when I was making these slippers. I remembered my roommates aunt crocheted some dorm slippers for both of us as a college gift. These puppies are the perfect college slumming apparel. AND if you are like me when you are in college, they are perfect for a good Tom Cruise style slide across the floor! Risky Business! I hope Suzy likes them.

Growing My Hair Out Blues...

Well it is actually green, however, if you are aware of my personali...SQUIRREL! HAHAHA...well you can probably guess growing my hair out will be a challenge to the ADD. Therefore I am in the middle of making fun new hair pieces to keep the scissors at bay. This creation was inspired by the Jane Austen era.

GIFT IDEAS

I happened upon some old pictures I took of gifts I made this Christmas. I think making a gift is so much more special because you spend so much time thinking about that person as you create their gift. As I grew older I felt homemade gifts seemed juvenile, but more and more I feel it is a special way to express gratitude to someone. ..way better than a gift card. I think I may be one of the only people in the world who does not care for gift cards.

Bring on the Ice Storms

So while I have noticed that quite a few of the teachers out in the world claim to be bored with all of these days off (Blasphemy!) I have been very busy. Hahaha...no silly. I have not been grading papers! I have been crafting!

I love eco-friendly craft. I also hate how expensive Landsend can be. The following craft is the cheapest thing I could get out of that catalog!

A little glue, some burnt fingers, modge podge (greatest friend to all crafters) and a lovely coaster is born!
