Mrs. Libbey is my Inspiration!

My Mom's very best friend in the whole world is Mrs. Libbey. Mrs. Libbey is like Mom #2 for me. She is also my knitting buddy. It is nice to have a someone around who knows the simple pleasure of creating something from just a bit of string!

Mrs. Libbey gifted me with an AWESOME sweater, that just arrived in the mail yesterday. Not only do I love mail...but I LOVE homemade! Mrs. Libbey knows how to get things done!

Here is my awesome sweater:

I love it SO much! But, Mr. A was right. It needed a flower to go in my hair. Alright, Mr. A...give me a few minutes, I'll whip something together:

I love it when a plan comes together!

Thinking About It...

So a few people have said I should sell my wares on etsy or at a craft show. They are fun to make....

New ideas are rolling around. I will be moving away from these headbands soon.

I am still letting the idea marinate. What do you all think?

St. Patrick's Day

Here in America, St Patrick's Day is something quite different than anywhere else I believe. I love the way Americans make any excuse to have a party. For me, St. Patrick's Day has all of those American traditions, but also a reflection of what I know about my Irish heritage.

Sadly, I have only known one Irishman. To me he was Ireland. That being said, all of the people on that island should be proud to have had such wonderful representation! Through Grandad, I have associated Ireland with a man whose scowl is always betrayed by his smiling eyes (truly smiling in every poetic sense!), who only counted the change in his pocket for the time signature of a song, and whose boot imprint has lasted and continues to last years and years after his face faded from our sights. We are Grandad as much as we are Ireland. God Bless the Irish!

Love you Grandad and Grandmom!

New cut New band

I just got a fresh cut on what my sister calls my big old melon head (which may be true compared to her little ole pea head:)). With this new hair comes the new responsibility of figuring out how to NOT make it seem like old lady hair as it grows out. New hair perspective=new headband pattern. This one is knitted long ways, which I find faster and easier for some reason.

In the end this is a new spin on the green band I made last month. I could get used to this...how about you?
